This recipe comes from Dorothy’s sister Ruth.
Sauerkraut Salad
- 1/2 cup cider vinegar
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1/2 cup onions (chopped)
- 1 cup green pepper (chopped)
- 2 pimiento
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
- 1 teaspoon celery seed
- 1 can sauerkraut (rinsed and drained)
- Bring first five ingredients to a boil.
- Put sauerkraut into a bowl and add the hot mixture.
- Add remaining ingredients and toss well.
- Chill well before serving – 3 to 4 hours
